What's it like being a...panda? >.>
You get a lot of... well... recognition. We ain't all that common in the group, you know? At least... I haven't seen many. Now foxes, huskies, tigers, et cetera, they're a dime a dozen. Everywhere. Prolific. You'll not remember one simply for the fact that he's a fox, or a tiger, or whatever. Now, a panda? Oh yeah. You'll remember that. So people who see me tend to remember. Which makes it all the more awkward when I can't remember which of the fifteen bleedin' foxes a guy I'm talkin' to was. >.<
What brought you to the group?
Well, to trace it all the way back... Yahtzee Croshaw. Zero Punctuation drew me to The Escapist. I watched for a bit, decided the community was worth hanging around. Made an account, saw that there was a group... joined up. I don't really contribute much, unfortunately, which makes me feel like I joined the group just for the status, which is what I didn't want to happen. Been thinkin' about how I could contribute, even though I'm not really artistic and my creative writing spark went out years ago. I'll think of something eventually!
When you're not on the group, what do you like to do?
Video games! It's all about the video games. I keep my Steam Record at a 10.0 at all times, playing whatever I can. I do Xbox, too. Although I prefer single player. Don't like competitive multiplayer. Not against human players, anyway. It's not fun. Bots? I love bots. Bots don't camp. Or scream obscenities at you. Or go after you personally. Sorry, off track! I also like to just browse the Internet, watch YouTube, and look at p-... pictures.
What's your favorite form of entertainment?
Video games, of course. Shows are cool, but... I mean, there's just nothing that compares to interactivity.
You mostly use the live chat on the off-site forum. What makes that more appealing?
Mainly the fact that I don't have to mash F5 like I'm back in 4chan waters. I can multitask. Hear a little beep, go over, see if anything's worth saying, if not, go back to what I'm doing, if so, say something, and go back to what I'm doing. Plus the color cues make it nice and easy to distinguish users.
Speaking of appeal, why do you consider yourself furry at all?
Excellent question! One I've found myself asking... er, myself... a few times recently. I think it's mainly because I identify several of my characteristics with that of Ailuropoda melanoleuca. Slow. Big. I've even got the circles around my eyes a bit. (Thanks to sleep deprivation, though.) Lovable. Docile. I dunno, finding animalistic traits in one's self seems to be a good indication of being a furry, doesn't it? And if not, then I guess there's always the porn. That was a good indication.
Anyone in the group you consider to be a close friend?
Got plenty of friends, too many to list, really. Although the person I knew from the beginning, really... I think the first person I started talking to, really, was Cingal, AKA The Lunatic. We talk a lot, about a lot of different things, both serious and silly/stupid.
Anything else you'd like to say while you have time?
Just wanted to say I appreciate all everyone does for the group, so on and so forth. This has all had a lot of time and effort put into it, and it's a shame I haven't managed to contribute much to it. The group, I mean.
Thanks for the interview
Oh, no, thank YOU.
Oh, and Portal 2 is effin' awesome, right?
Yeah, it was. Biggest improvement over the previous was the music, I felt. Not the end songs, those were cute, but nothing rivals Still Alive. I just like how they integrated music into the gameplay more. Made it more integral, more organic, relate it more to what you were doing than the first, where it was just background music played occasionally.
Peace be the Furry?
Yeah... I guess until we've massed enough weapons, peace is our only option.
